 New Rescue Boat Launched RESCUE 31 - Inverloch SESs new ocean rescue boat has been delivered and after extensive trials has been launched. Pictured above is Geoff Swanton, Unit Controller of Inverloch, welcoming special guests and members to the launch of Inverloch's latest rescue boat. The Unit sincerely thanks all those involved with all aspects of this development in achieving excellence in Marine Rescue and Community Service. STORM REPORT The Inverloch SES Unit was outstanding during the storm on April 2-3, 2008. Members were tireless in answering over 60 calls for assistance. Ranging from storm damage to abanoned water craft all calls were handled with the highest professionalism, ingenuity and good humour proving just what a bonus the Unit is to Inverloch and the surrunding Bass Coast Areas. WELCOME The Inverloch State Emergency Service (SES) is a volunteer based emergency service, servicing the south western Gippsland area (along with other units at Wonthaggi, Phillip Island Foster The Inverloch SES was officially formed in 1975 however its history goes back many years before this when a ocean rescue group operated in Venus bay and Inverloch This group was the basis of what is now the Inverloch SES. And the unit as one of its major areas of operation is the continuing provision of an ocean rescue service as well as an inlet and river rescue service The Victoria State Emergency Service (SES) is a volunteer based emergency service, servicing the State of Victoria. The Inverloch Unit is proud to serve the communities within the Shire of Bass Coast which includes Anderson Inlet and the Bunurong Marine Park and includes Inverloch Tarwin Lower and Venus Bay. The Inverloch SES has a wide range of roles including planning for and responding to water rescue, floods, severe storms and bushfire emergencies, as well as search and rescue. The SES also provides a support role to other emergency service agencies including the Victoria Police. SES volunteers come from all walks of life, all backgrounds and all professions. In fact, the main thing SES volunteers have in common is a desire to make a contribution within their community.This web site has been developed, and is maintained by staff and volunteers.
